Loch Bad An Sgalaig, Wester Ross, Scotland.
I had spent the last week of November in 2014 based in Poolewe. Driving up and over the hills on a dull overcast day from Poolewe to Gairloch then heading to the East on the A832 on the journey home I passed Loch Bad An Sgalaig. As often happens over on the West coast of Scotland the light changed in a second and I stopped to photograph the flat calm loch with the sun trying to break through some low cloud cover. I shot four full frame images with a view to stitching the shots into a panorama but settled when processing on just using three of the images. Anyone who knows the loch will maybe recall an old ruined tin roofed cottage which nestles to the right of the panorama and it was this image which I chose to discard. Sometimes any little sign of human life just seems to be out of place!
