Duffus, Moray, Scotland.
Duffus, Moray, Scotland.

This old tree caught my eye one late afternoon back in the early winter of 2013. Silhouetted against the sky the stretching branches seemed to reveal a true beauty and form which, until then, I had never really noticed or appreciated. It stands very close to Duffus Castle, a location often photographed in this part of Moray in Scotland. For that short spell before sundown it became for me the star of the show. There's no doubt that I will visit the location at some other time and when I next gaze on the tree I'll remember that afternoon in early winter and how for that brief moment in time it became the true king of the castle. Sometimes one can look but never see!
