Clashach Cove / Cove Bay, Evening, Early Spring.

This photograph, which I made at about this time last year, is a favourite of mine and once again came from a visit to Clashach Cove in Moray. It made the final judging stages of the Scottish Nature Photography Awards and will appear in the awards book to be published later this year (2015) but that has little to do with why I favour it. One can never stop learning and It is a photograph which has taught me a lot and that is why I like it. It reminds me of many things. For example I had looked at the composition a few tides before I took the photograph and had liked the possibility of the zigzag in the composition. The tide and light were as I wanted on the evening I returned and so for me that zigzag worked on this occasion. The overall photograph to me has faults however and so I will try again another time.

Sometime it is maybe better to set ones own standards!
